Qué pasó
In 1615 the people of Kyiv founded a brotherhood school on Podil. In 1632 Metropolitan Petro Mohyla joined it with the school of the Caves Monastery, and the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium, later the Academy, became the leading school of Eastern Europe's Orthodox world. It taught Latin, Greek, philosophy and rhetoric, and its students included the philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda. It was closed in 1817, and in 1991 it opened again as a university on the same site.
